AUBURN, Ala. (October 12, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team heads to Auburn, Ala. for the ITA Southern Regional Championships from Oct. 13-17.
North Alabama embarks on a trip to Auburn's campus for a major fall tournament. The five-day event sees seven Lions facing the top individual players of the Southern region in singles and doubles play.
UNA heads into the week with momentum after its last outing at the Lipscomb Fall Invitational. North Alabama totaled 20 wins in Nashville, Tenn. against Murray State, Belmont and Atlantic Sun Conference foe Lipscomb.
All competing Lions secured at least two wins, led by freshman Farah Asaad with five. Senior Eeva Ristola, junior Louise Booker and freshman Sammie Schouten each took home four victories. Juniors Mathilde Delaney and Emma Ansorge finished with three wins, and senior Senem Ocal rounded out with two singles victories.
ABOUT THE ITA SOUTHERN REGIONALS
Ristola, Ocal, Delaney, Booker, Ansorge, Schouten and Asaad will compete in the week-long tournament.
The tournament's two singles finalists and doubles champion earn automatic qualification for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championship from Nov. 18-23 in Orlando, Fla.
The 2024 ITA fall tournament resulted in 13 wins for the Lions. Ristola led the outing with three total victories. Ocal and Ansorge secured two wins, and Delaney and junior Ada Karabacak won one match each.
The tournament will take place at the Yarbrough Tennis Center, and admission is free to the public. Live streaming of the six outdoor front courts and six indoor courts is available courtesy of Auburn Athletics.
