Women’s Tennis wins five matches at Conference Individual Tournament

Delaney, Ristola combine for five total wins in Jacksonville

 JACKSONVILLE (October 27, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team won five matches at this weekend's Conference Individual Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. with two Lions picking up a combined five wins.

The Lions were represented by senior Eeva Ristola and junior Mathilde Delaney in the outing against Atlantic Sun Conference foes. The two combined for two doubles wins to take third while Ristola finished third with three singles victories.


Ristola had a solid solo display, opening with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Stetson's Pilar Astigarrgara Harper. She continued with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over FGCU's Anjali Kotecha before falling in a tightly-contested 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-5) contest to North Florida's Laurie Barendse.


Ristola won third place in a decisive 6-4, 6-0 victory over Lipscomb's Sofiia Paladi.

In doubles, Delaney and Ristola started strong with a 6-0 shutout of Austin Peay's Sophia Baranov and Katie Oliver. The two dropped the ensuing match to North Florida, but the duo took third place in a 6-4 victory over EKU's Ceylin Ipek and Mariia Fedenko.

UNA preps for its final fall outing with the Roberta Alison Fall Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. from Oct. 31 – Nov. 1.
