HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (November 9, 2025) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team concluded the final fall weekend with six total wins across the AVCA Pairs National Championships and UAB Fall Pairs Tournament from Nov. 7-9.
The final fall weekend was a busy one with in-state action for the Lions in both Huntsville and Birmingham. Senior Selma Robinson and graduate Audrey Gauthier represented UNA at the AVCA Pairs National Championship, ending the tournament tied for 49th-place with three wins. The team also competed in the UAB Fall Pairs Tournament with the Lions claiming three wins.
For Robinson and Gauthier, the two ended the weekend on a high note with three-straight victories in consolation play. The duo improved from the program's 2024 performance which saw Robinson and Ryenne Gepford finished 54th in the tournament.
The pair began with a battle out the gate against UCLA's Ensley Alden and Mallory LaBreche. Robinson and Gauthier played the UCLA pair to a deciding third set but fell in a 21-18, 17-21, 7-15 bout. The ensuing match against Boise State's Allyson Alden and Abbie Wolf ended in a competitive match with Boise State's duo winning, 21-14, 21-19.
Robinson and Gauthier found their stride in match three, beating Tampa's Kaelyn Fredette-Huffman and Hailey Peterson, 21-13, 21-15. The two faced a familiar foe in Stetson's Katie Camp and Madeline Camp, but the winning continued with a 21-18, 21-16 triumph over the Hatters.
The final match resulted in the hat trick for the duo, rolling to a 21-14, 21-16 win over Houston Christian's Alexa Landmark and Olivia Zeigler.
At the UAB Fall Pairs Tournament, sophomores Paige Griner and Jennah Atchley claimed all three of UNA's wins on the day.
The UNA pair opened with a 21-16, 23-21 win over South Florida's Isabella Almeida and Alyx Zapatka. Momentum continued with a 21-19, 21-16 triumph over Georgia State's Kaylie Drysdale and Bella Troncale. Their final match resulted in a 21-10, 21-15 victory over Sadie Sharpe and Amelia Sullivan to cap the weekend.

The fall season is now complete for Beach Volleyball, who prep for the championship season in Spring 2026. North Alabama finishes the fall with 37 wins and an AVCA Pairs National Championship bid.
UNA Beach Volleyball Head Coach Kaleb VanDePerre leads the Lions, looking to build on an 18-15 record from Spring 2025 along with a two-win ASUN Tournament appearance.
