FLORENCE, Ala. (November 9, 2025) – The University of North Alabama women's basketball team will face one of its most historic rivals, Jacksonville State, in Florence on Monday at 6 p.m. inside CB&S Bank Arena.
Fresh off a 2-0 start to the season, the Lions go for their third win in a clash of in-state rivals. The teams will meet for the first time since 2022-23 with both teams looking to remain unbeaten early in non-conference play.
North Alabama goes for its first 3-0 season start since its inaugural Division I season in 2018-19.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with "Voice of the Lions" Benjamin Ray and Bryan Neece on the call and Chase Glover as the courtside reporter. The game will also air on radio through Roar Lions Productions with AJ Good on commentary. The "Countdown to Tipoff" radio show begins at 5:40 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the game, as parking is limited due to ongoing construction. As such, the lot near the Hal Self Athletic Annex will be unavailable. Violators will be towed if parked in the construction zone.
Lots A and B will be in the parking lot directly below Flowers Hall. Lot A pass holders will have coned off spots near the staircase. Shuttles will be available to take fans up to the field house lot for entry into CB&S Bank Arena.
Lot C parking will be in the parking lot below the Mitchell Burford Science and Technology Building. Residential Students will have access into Lot C with their hang tags. The public can also park in this lot for $12. Parking at the Bill Jones athletic complex will be unavailable. However, this lot is available as a drop off area near the arena.
Limited handicap parking will be available in front of the CB&S Bank Arena ticket office.

LAST TIME OUT: North Alabama continued its winning ways last time out with a 75-42 home win over Fisk in CB&S Bank Arena. UNA's offense exploded in the second and fourth quarters, giving way to UNA's first 2-0 start since the 2019-20 season. North Alabama moved to 7-0 all-time against Fisk.
SCOUTING THE LIONS: Efficient offense and stifling defense has been the theme with UNA's opening two games. The Lions are shooting a solid 40 percent in field-goal percentage while holding opponents to 28.7 percent shooting. UNA's rebounding has been a strong suit with the Lions holding a 93-71 advantage in total rebounds. Blocks have also been plentiful with North Alabama leading opponents 12-3 in the category.
MCNAMARA MAKES WAVES: Junior Cameron McNamara has come out the gates hot in her first two UNA games. The forward averages a team-high 14 PPG on 57.9 percent shooting to go with a joint team-high eight RPG. She led in points (13), rebounds (10), assists (4) and steals (3) in her first UNA game against UT Martin. McNamara followed up with a 15-point, six-rebound effort against Fisk.
SOFIA SHINES: Sophomore Sofia Ceppellotti has also had a strong start to the season through two games. The Italy native had a near-double-double effort against UT Martin with 11 points and nine rebounds while going 3-5 behind the arc. She had a career day against Fisk, scoring a career-high 16 points with a game-high seven rebounds. Ceppellotti has averages of 13.5 PPG on 52.6 percent shooting and 45.5 percent three-point shooting to go with eight RPG.
THE ALLEY WAY: Senior Alexsandra Alvarado was UNA's spark against Fisk with 15 points off the bench. She was efficient with a 50 percent field-goal percentage and led with six assists and three made three-pointers. She also tied the team high with two steals.
SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE STATE: The Gamecocks are 1-0 to start 2025-26, defeating LaGrange College, 92-35, in their season opener. Jacksonville State finished with a 10-20 overall record and 4-14 Conference USA record for the 2024-25 season. The Gamecocks also made a first-round appearance in the CUSA tournament, falling to Sam Houston, 55-53. Jacksonville State returns four players from 2024-25 in María Sánchez-Ponce (8.0 PPG), Mya Barnes (7.3), Eden Sample (3.6) and Kyera Thornsbury (2.2). The Gamecocks are coached by Rick Pietri.
SERIES HISTORY: Monday's meeting marks the 40th in the all-time series since the 1978-79 season. North Alabama leads the series over Jacksonville State, 20-19. The Lions will look for their first win over JSU since the 1993-94 season.
