FLORENCE, Ala. (April 18, 2025) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team will conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 19, with Senior Day against the UAB Blazers in Florence.
North Alabama embarks in their final contest before next weekend's ASUN Beach Volleyball Tournament, facing the Blazers in the second season meeting. The Lions prep for their second home outing with the matchup, looking to remain unbeaten after two wins from the Shoals Beach Bash in March. UNA also hopes to head into the postseason with momentum towards a deep postseason run.
Saturday will also see the program honor four UNA players after the conclusion of the dual in seniors Katy Floyd and Ryenne Gepford along with graduate students Marti McLaurin and Kaitlyn Holbrook.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama's last action saw the Lions compete at the GSU Diggin' Duals Invite in Atlanta from April 11-12. The Lions secured wins against EKU and Louisiana Monroe while falling to then-No. 18 Georgia State in two bouts. Sophomore Aurora Bibolotti and freshman Pien Grooters finished with a 3-1 record at the invite, including a 21-16, 21-18 victory over Georgia State's Ella Mozeleski and Aliisa Vuorinen. Heading into the final regular-season weekend, five pairs have 10 or more wins led by Katy Floyd and junior Selma Robinson (20-7 season record). Kaitlyn Holbrook and junior Hailey Benesz are 17-5 on the season, with Bibolotti and freshman Paige Griner 12-7 on the year. Junior Lucy Wedding and freshman Mabrey Whitehead sport a 10-6 record while Ryenne Gepford and Grooters are 10-9 on the year.
SCOUTING UAB: The Blazers enter with an 18-10 record with a 3-2 record in Conference USA. UAB hosted the Blazer Beach Bash last time out, going 4-0 with wins over Missouri State, Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay and Southeastern Louisiana. UAB has four pairs with 10 or more wins, with top-flight pairing Olivia Stant and Jasmine Haas leading with a 23-5 record. The Blazer's Klea Sirois also sports a 23-5 record, going 11-2 from flight three and 12-3 from flight four.
SERIES HISTORY VS. THE BLAZERS: UAB leads the all-time series versus North Alabama, 6-1. The Lions faced the Blazers earlier this season at The March to May Invitational, falling to UAB, 3-2, on March 8.
