NOTES
DIVISION, DIVISION: Similar to baseball and softball, the ASUN will move to two divisions for the 2025 soccer season and will play in the Gold Division. This division includes Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, EKU, Lipscomb and North Alabama. The other division is the Graphite division where FGCU, Jacksonville, North Florida, Queens, Stetson and West Georgia compete. As shown, the conference schedule snakes as they play a home and away game with each of the teams in their division.
NEW FACES, DIFFERENT PLACES: Outside of conference play, the Lions see a swarm of new teams to play this season. They only return two non-conference opponents from last season in UT Martin and Jacksonville State, splitting those games in 2024. North Alabama had Alabama State scheduled to play before weather ultimately canceled the game. UNA adds three more Tennessee teams to the mix with ETSU, Chattanooga and Tennessee Tech. The Lions bring in-state opponent Troy to town in late August before traveling to see Southeast Missouri State that same weekend. UNA rounds up non-conference play with Mississippi Valley State on Sept. 18. This will mark the first time competing against ETSU and Mississippi Valley State.
POSTSEASON PROMISE: North Alabama has made the ASUN tournament in three different seasons with two of those ending in an ASUN Finals appearance in 2018 and 2023. The Lions, decimated by injuries last season, finished with a 3-14 record that leaned heavily on their prior freshman class to play big minutes. As experience settles in for the rising sophomores, and as the team returns big name players such as three-time captain
Alice Bussey, UNA looks to host more ASUN Tournament games this season.
THREE IS THE MAGIC NUMBER: Three wins is all that Walker needs to amass his 100th victory during his tenure at North Alabama. Walker is one of two coaches at North Alabama from the Division II era and enters his 13th season at the helm. He holds a career 97-91-23 record with the Purple and White.
OPPOSING RECORDS: The Lions boast opposing teams that won a combined 91 games between the 14 teams last year. Lipscomb won 14 games while Eastern Kentucky amassed 12. The Bisons went on to win the ASUN Championship over the Colonels and made it to the NCAA Tournament against No. 8 seed Vanderbilt. Outside of the conference opponents, UNA holds a 13-13-2 record all-time against this year's non-conference teams.
