ARLINGTON, Texas (October 12, 2026) – The United Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday, naming junior Reese Ricketts as the UAC Player of the Week.

This marks Ricketts' first UAC weekly award this season and her third career conference player of the week award. She also earned five freshman of the week awards in her debut season in 2024 to break the Division I school record.

This is now the seventh UAC weekly award North Alabama Volleyball has received this season, with junior Kinslee McGowan earning three Setter of the Week awards and senior Ava Martindale earning three Defensive Player of the Week awards.

Ricketts had an outstanding performance over two road matches last week, recording 41 kills to average 5.13 kills per set and hit for .313.

In the match against Austin Peay on Oct. 8, Ricketts also reached a milestone of 1,000 career kills in just three years at UNA. She is the first Lion to achieve this in the Division I era while earning all their career kills at UNA.

Against Austin Peay, Ricketts recorded 24 kills to reach a new season-high and come just one-shy of her career high of 25. She also hit for an impressive .432 against the Governors, her second highest hitting percentage of the season.

Against the Governors, she recorded her seventh double-double of the season, reaching 15 digs. She also recorded 17 kills against Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 10.

The UAC named Emilee Hill and Cooper Abney from EKU as Setter Pair of the Week, Tarleton State's Leddy Rae Guinn as Defensive Player of the Week and Central Arkansas' Annie Hopkins as Freshman of the Week.

North Alabama enters this week with two home matches. The Lions will face UT Arlington on Thursday, Oct. 15 and Austin Peay Friday, Oct. 16. Both matches will be played at CB&S Bank Arena at 6 p.m.
