NASHVILLE, Tenn. (February 13, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team hits the road for two bouts this weekend in nearby locations, including road matches at Belmont on Saturday and at Alabama A&M on Sunday.
The Lions look to extend their three-dual win streak in nearby action in Nashville and Huntsville. UNA begins the weekend on Saturday with a 12:30 p.m. matchup vs. the Bruins. North Alabama will return back to Alabama for the meeting against the Bulldogs on Sunday at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama tallied a third-straight win last time out in a 4-1 victory over in-state rival Jacksonville State. The Gamecocks started fast with the doubles point, but four-straight wins in singles helped the Lions clinch its third-straight win of the season and third-straight series victory over the Gamecocks. Senior Eeva Ristola, junior Louise Booker and freshman Sammie Schouten each claimed their third singles victory of the season, and junior Mathilde Delaney won her second in the early campaign. The result increased UNA's win percentage in singles play to 64 percent (16-9).
SCOUTING BELMONT: The Bruins are set for a two-dual weekend and are looking to gain their first win of the season at 0-4. Belmont is coming off a seven-win season in Spring 2025 with a semifinal appearance in the Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Championship. Three players have a singles win this season in Ketevan Jeladze, Mia Jones and Cielo Tapia-Cruz. Jones and Tapia-Cruz also have a team-leading two victories in doubles. Second-year head coach Ellie Burger leads the Bruins.
SERIES HISTORY: The Lions go for their first all-time series win in the 14th meeting against Belmont.
SCOUTING ALABAMA A&M: The Bulldogs enter the weekend also looking for its first win of the season at 0-2. Alabama A&M is coming off a 10-win season in Spring 2025, capped by a semifinal appearance in the Southwestern Athletic Conference Tennis Championships. The team features four returners, including 2025 SWAC Second-Team honoree Sofia Sotelo Raya. Willis Mbandi leads the Bulldogs in his 11th season.
SERIES HISTORY: The Lions lead the all-time series over the Bulldogs with a 20-2 record. UNA swept Alabama A&M, 4-0, during the 2025 season and has won 16-straight meetings against the Bulldogs.
