KENNESAW, Ga. (February 14, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team picked up its third win of the season Saturday afternoon with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Kennesaw State in Kennesaw, Ga.
North Alabama (3-5) concluded its roadtrip in Georgia with a hard-fought triumph against a former Atlantic Sun Conference foe. The win saw UNA take the advantage early with two doubles victories, but singles proved a battle against the Owls (4-3), which now compete in Conference USA.
The teams alternated wins throughout the first four singles bouts, but North Alabama held on to claim the dual over Kennesaw State thanks to freshman Benjamin Meyers. His sixth-court victory secured UNA's road win and second-straight over the Owls in the all-time series.
Along with Meyers, four additional Lions tallied wins on the day. Senior Lachlan Brain and junior Alberto Altur led with a singles and doubles victory, with sophomores Samu Dominguez and Satoru Nakajima victorious in doubles.
Brain and Dominguez began the day with a third-straight doubles win to stay perfect as a pair. They moved to 3-0 after a third flight, 6-4 win over Xavier Ferrer and Nathan Walters. Altur and Nakajima claimed their third doubles win and UNA's doubles point with a 6-3 triumph from court two over Dominic Ducariu and Anthony Weingarten.
Altur continued on in singles with a strong 6-2, 6-4 victory over Weingarten from court two. Kennesaw State responded with a fourth-flight triumph, but Brain tallied UNA's third team point after a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 result over Ben Hudson from Flight No. 1. It marked Brain's first singles win of the season.
A three-set KSU victory on court three pushed the scoreline to 3-2 in favor of North Alabama. The decider followed next, with Meyers sending UNA home with the victory after a 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 triumph over Ferrer.
