HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (February 15, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team earned its fifth-consecutive win Sunday afternoon in a 6-1 road win at Alabama A&M.
North Alabama (6-2) capped a two-game road swing by continuing its winning ways in Huntsville, Ala. The Lions rolled to victory using a strong display in both doubles and singles play.
UNA began by taking two of the three doubles courts before five-straight singles victories clinched the win. North Alabama secured its 21st win in the series and extended its win streak to 17 vs. Alabama A&M (0-3).
Five Lions won their respective matches with four going a perfect 2-0 on the day.
Juniors Emma Ansorge, Mathilde Delaney and Louise Booker tallied two wins across singles and doubles, along with freshman Sammie Schouten. Senior Eeva Ristola won her singles match from the top flight to round out UNA's winners.
A dominant doubles display saw Delaney and Ansorge start with a 6-1 win over Gabrielle Henderson and Sofia Sotelo Raya from court two. Booker and Schouten clinched doubles for UNA after combining for a 6-0 victory from court three against Melissa Mwakha and Nardine Salem.
Ristola and freshman Farah Asaad were one game from winning their doubles match, leading 5-2 from the top flight against Tstitsi Mahere and Alicia Owegi.
Ristola went on to secure a win with a 6-1, 6-0 singles victory over Owegi from the top flight. Ansorge followed from court two in a 7-5, 6-1 triumph over Henderson. Delaney won her match and clinched the dual with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sotelo Raya from court three.
Booker's second win of the day came in a 6-3, 6-4 victory from court four over Mahere. Schouten claimed UNA's final singles win after rallying in three sets over Mwakha, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0.
