FLORENCE, Ala. (February 17, 2026) – The University of North Alabama baseball team dropped its first midweek game of the season to UAB on Tuesday by a 15-3 final at Mike D. Lane Field at Bank Independent Stadium.
North Alabama (2-2) earned three runs in the contest in the bottom of the second inning. Senior left fielder Nash Rippen hit a 354-foot, two-run bomb over the left field wall to get things going.
Redshirt freshman right fielder Cayden Sheffield reached on a fielding error by the shortstop a batter ahead of Rippen. Later on in that inning, centerfielder Tait Nunnally roped an RBI single to score Jackson Westmoreland from second base to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the second.
Making his season debut, redshirt junior pitcher Kevin Henrich led the pitching staff with a scoreless three-strikeout fourth inning out of the pen.
UAB (2-2) scored at least one run in every inning outside of the second and fourth to take the game.
