NASHVILLE (February 21, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's basketball team took on one of the top four teams in the Atlantic Sun Conference on Saturday, falling 73-51 to Lipscomb inside Allen Arena in Nashville.
Despite the final score, there were nine lead changes. North Alabama (8-19, 3-13 ASUN) led for over 15 minutes and took a 26-24 lead into the halftime break.
However, the second half was a different story.
Lipscomb (18-11, 11-5 ASUN) scored 49 points in the second half, shooting 20-27 from the field for 74.1 percent to jump ahead. The Bisons also shot an even 7-14 behind the arc in the second half and finished 10-25 for the game for 40 percent. The Lions were not able to keep pace.
UNA was led by sophomore Kevin de Kovachich with 15 points on 7-18 shooting. Redshirt senior Corneilous Williams had 12 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, while senior Donte Bacchus added 11 points.
Redshirt freshman King Walker scored in ASUN play for the first time in his career, hitting a deep two-pointer in the first half.
UNA had a 34-33 advantage on the board and a 15-4 advantage on the offensive glass, controlling the pace in the first half. Lipscomb came up with the different with high percentage shooting, defense and depth.
The Bisons were led by nine scorers and four players in double figures.
The Lions return to CB&S Bank Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 25 to host Bellarmine for the final home game of the regular season and senior day. Tipoff is set for 7:45 p.m. as the second half of a doubleheader with the UNA women's team.
