JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (March 13, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team suffered a 5-2 defeat Friday afternoon against Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala.
North Alabama (8-7) opened the road trip against the in-state rivals, but the Gamecocks defended home court with the victory. Jacksonville State captured the doubles point early, continuing on to secure the win with three-straight singles wins. The Lions took two of the final three flights to end the outing in Jacksonville.
The Gamecocks' Aman Dahiya and Lucius Soller started with the first doubles win in a 6-4 victory over senior Lachlan Brain and sophomore Samu Dominguez. Junior Alex Despoja and freshman Benjamin Meyers battled from court three, but Alin Fatu and Charlie Penman landed Jacksonville State's doubles point in a 7-6 (7-3) win.
In singles, Timo De Visser registered the Gamecocks' first singles win with a 6-1, 6-1 victory from court five over Meyers. David Krasner earned the second JSU win from court two in a 6-1, 6-4 win over junior Alberto Altur. Marko Milosavljevic tallied the third and clinching win from four with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Despoja.
Dominguez gave the Lions a point from court six after defeating Fatu, 7-6 (7-3), 6-2. The top flight would go in favor of the Gamecocks before junior Izan Orgiles ended the day on top over Dahiya from court three, 6-0, 6-7 (1-7), 1-0 (10-7).
