FLORENCE, Ala. (March 15, 2026) – The winning ways continued for the University of North Alabama women's tennis on Sunday, as the Lions won for the 10th-straight time with a 4-0 sweep over Western Kentucky in Florence, Ala.
North Alabama (11-2) improved its home record to 5-0 after the strong display over the Lady Toppers (8-9). Two doubles wins gave the Lions the one-point advantage before wins from juniors Emma Ansorge and Mathilde Delaney clinched the home win.
The two combined for a doubles win, along with third-flight duo Louise Booker and Sammie Schouten. Ansorge and Delaney continue to dominate doubles with a 9-0 record this season, and Schouten and Booker secured their fourth of the year.
Booker and Schouten started the dual with a 6-2 win from court three over Ariadna Fernandez and Elizabeth Sobieski. The Lady Toppers took the top flight, but Ansorge and Delaney fended off Virginia Madueño and Barbara Olvera from court two with a 7-5 triumph.
Singles started with a walkover win for freshman Farrah Asaad to extended UNA's lead, 2-0. Ansorge completed her 2-0 day with a court-two victory over Madueño, 6-0, 6-2. The junior remains unbeaten this season in singles play with the win improving her record to 10-0.
Delaney confirmed the UNA sweep after defeating Olvera from court three, 6-1, 6-4. The victory added to her season tally with her sixth win.
Schouten and seniors Eeva Ristola and Senem Ocal all won their first sets in respective singles matches. Ristola was additionally leading in the second set, leading 4-1 in the frame.
