Women’s Tennis set for Wednesday clash vs. Chattanooga

Lions look to extend 10-match win streak in midweek matchup vs. Mocs

FLORENCE, Ala. (March 17, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team readies for a Wednesday, March 18 bout against Chattanooga from the UNA Tennis Courts in Florence, Ala.

The Lions and Mocs are both looking to extend win streaks this season. UNA puts its 10-dual win streak on the line, while Chattanooga enters with a nine-dual win streak. The matchup serves as the final regular season match in Florence before Senior Day on March 31 against Tennessee State.

SCOUTING THE LIONS:
The Lions went 2-0 in weekend action against Murray State and Western Kentucky, securing 4-0 sweeps against both teams March 14 and 15. UNA is winning 74.1 percent of singles bouts and 64.5 percent of doubles matches. Junior Emma Ansorge is undefeated in both singles and doubles with a 10-0 singles record and a 9-0 doubles record. Freshman Sammie Schouten has nine singles victories followed by seven from senior Eeva Ristola. Junior Mathilde Delaney is unbeaten in doubles with partner Ansorge at 9-0.

SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA: The Mocs start their three-dual week with the trip to UNA, coming to Florence with a 11-1 record. Last time out, Chattanooga defeated UNCG, 5-2, on March 15. Rufaro Magarira has an 11-1 singles record to lead the team followed by Savannah Presson (9-3) and Emma Pedretti (8-2). Jordan Fenton and Ella Mancuso has a team-leading seven wins in doubles. Head Coach Chad Camper leads the Mocs.

SERIES HISTORY: The meeting marks the fifth in the all-time series with both teams tied 2-2. North Alabama claimed the last two meetings with 4-3 victories, last time out defeating the Mocs on Jan. 26, 2024.
