JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 2, 2026) – North Alabama Women's Basketball received its first postseason honor of the 2025-26 season Monday morning with senior India Howard being selected to the Academic All-ASUN team by the league's sports information directors and academic advisors.

Howard earns the academic honor for the second-straight season after being named to the team for the 2024-25 campaign. It also marks the third-straight season North Alabama has been represented on the academic team and fourth time overall. She is majoring in Engineering Technology with a 3.91 GPA.

To be eligible, undergraduate student-athletes had to have a cumulative 3.50 GPA, participate in 50 percent of contests during the season, have completed four semesters of college coursework OR 50 percent of progress towards a degree and have one year of residence at the institution.

The Coppell, Texas native was a solid contributor and a veteran presence on the team. The forward appeared in all 29 regular-season games, averaging 7.7 points on 60.6 percent shooting with 4.9 rebounds per game. She scored in double figures 12 times, including a season-high 18 points at Queens on Feb. 7.

Howard's defensive presence was a big part of the Lions' success this season. She ranked tied for seventh in the ASUN averaging one block per game. The senior tallied at least one block in all but six games this season, and her 30 total blocks ranked her eighth among the top 10. She had a season-high four blocks against West Georgia on Feb. 27, 2026.

Howard and the Lions begin the 2026 ASUN Tournament in Jacksonville, Fla. on Tuesday, March 3. UNA will face Queens in the first round at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The rest of the postseason ASUN awards will be announced at 9:30 a.m. today.
