ARLINGTON, Texas (July 15, 2026) – The United Athletic Conference announced the men's and women's basketball conference schedules for the 2026-27 season Wednesday, as the University of North Alabama will join eight other schools for the league's first season under the UAC name.
 
All nine members of the conference will play a 16-game schedule, beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 6. The UNA women's basketball program will open the season with a home matchup against Little Rock. North Alabama receives its first road matchup that Saturday, Jan. 9 against Austin Peay in Clarksville.
 
UNA will be joined in the UAC by Abilene Christian, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Little Rock, Tarleton State, UT Arlington and West Georgia.
 
"I am really excited about the release of our schedule," said UNA head coach Anna Nimz, who was named head coach in April. "The United Athletic Conference will be highly competitive, with outstanding coaching and talent that will make every game exciting and hard-fought. As I begin my first season at UNA, it's even more special to have the opportunity to lead our program into a new conference. Our fans can look forward to plenty of gritty, tough, and talented basketball games in CB&S Arena this season."
 
Every week will follow a Wednesday/Saturday format beginning Jan. 6 and will span nine weeks to March 6.
 
The UAC Championship Tournament will take place from March 10-13 with NCAA Selection Sunday to follow on March 14. The UAC has not announced the championship host site.
