Women’s Golf concludes play at Nashville Invitational

Lions sit steady in 11th place to defeat five teams; Klauber cards a 73 in final round

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 24, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's golf team finished the Nashville Invitational at Hermitage Golf Course on Tuesday, sitting pat in 11th place to defeat Eastern Washington, Loyola-Chicago, Bellarmine, Dayton and Tennessee State.

UNA's final round included a 19-over-par 307 team score — better than all five teams the Lions led in the first two rounds. UNA had an 18-stroke lead 12th place EWU and was just eight strokes back of the top 10.

Redshirt junior Kerigan Klauber — who won Atlantic Sun Conference Golfer of the Week on March 5 — had the best round Tuesday for the Lions with a 73 on the card to finish one-over. The Athens, Tenn. native had four birdies, including three in a row on holes 18, 1 and 2 to surge up the leaderboard. Her final score of 14-over put her in a tie for 38th place.

Yesterday's team leaders — junior Ava Schwartz and sophomore Sirichaya Chanpen — finished one and two strokes back of Klauber for the tournament. Schwartz finished 15-over and six-over for the round, while Chanpen was 16-over for the tournament and seven-over for the day. Both finished within the top 50 in a field of 91 golfers.

True freshman Kiersten Riggins also cracked the top 50 in a tie for 49th at 17-over. Sophomore Olivia Whittle rounded things out at 24-over. Both were six-over for the day, as all five UNA golfers stayed under 80 strokes.

UNA did most of its best golfing on par-4 holes, averaging a score of 4.27 as a unit to rank sixth in the category. The only five teams that played par-4s better were all in the top five of the overall leaderboard.

Delaware won the tournament at 18-over, followed by host school Lipscomb five strokes behind for the runner-up trophy. Ball State finished third, followed by Seattle, Longwood, Northern Illinois, UTRGV, Memphis, Belmont and Austin Peay.

Lipscomb's Ava Bankston won the individual medalist honor at one-over.
