Knights take baseball series on late comeback, 12-9

Lions earn most hits in a game this season with 16

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 29, 2026) — The University of North Alabama baseball team dropped the Bellarmine series on Sunday, 12-9 at Knights Field in Louisville, Ky.

North Alabama (12-15, 5-4 ASUN) had the most hits in a game this season with 16, surpassing the former highest that was set against Saint Louis on Feb. 21 with 14. 

Bellarmine (10-16, 4-5 ASUN) earned its first series win behind 15 hits and 12 runs on Sunday. All 12 runs came in the final four innings of the game. 

Reese Young had his longest outing of the season with 5.2 innings pitched where he allowed only two hits through five innings of work.

John Allen Stogner, Landon Scruggs, Justus Agosto and Sawyer Toney went the rest of the way combining for eight of the 12 runs scored.

UNA committed three errors today which tied for the most in a game this season. The Lions fall to 0-3 in such circumstances in 2026.

Eight of the nine UNA batters earned a hit with every batter finding their way on base today. 

Leighton Jenkins and Jackson Westmoreland led the way for the second consecutive day, each with three hits. Jenkins had a triple with two RBIs and a run scored, while Westmoreland plated twice with an RBI.

Westmoreland, Will Millard and Bryant Loving hit a double, while Petey Craska blasted the lone homer in today's game. 

Three Lions had a two-RBI day in Craska, Jenkins and Loving with Westmoreland, Coleman and Millard earning one each.

This is only the second loss in conference play when North Alabama hits at least one home run.
