FLORENCE, Ala. (March 31, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team secured a Senior Day sweep Tuesday afternoon in a 7-0 victory over Tennessee State from the UNA Tennis Courts in Florence, Ala.

North Alabama (14-3) capped its home schedule with a strong showing against the Tigers. Dominant showings in doubles and singles led to the Lions concluding the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record. It also marked the eighth sweep of the season with UNA now winning 13 of its previous 14 duals.

Senior Eeva Ristola, junior Emma Ansorge, junior Mathilde Delaney and freshman Farah Asaad all led with a singles and doubles win. Senior Senem Ocal nabbed a singles victory along with freshman Sammie Schouten.

Ristola and Ansorge started the dual with 6-0 win from court one over Taylor Ellis and Claudia Murdasanu. The top-flight duo remains undefeated in doubles play with a 13-0 record. Ristola and Asaad tallied their eighth doubles win with a 6-1 victory from court two over Julie Tungamarial and Natalie Walsh to conclude doubles.

Schouten registered the first singles victory in a 6-0, 6-1 win over Tungamarial from flight four. The freshman continues her strong campaign with the 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands native improving to 12-3. Delaney's ninth singles win followed with a 6-0, 6-0 result over Aroa Arrie Castillo from flight three. Ansorge improved to 13-1 on the season after defeating Natalie Walsh for the clinching point, taking flight two with a 6-0, 6-2 win.

Asaad secured her third singles win of the year after a 6-1, 6-1 victory from flight six over Taylor Ellis. Ocal defeated Murdasanu from flight five, 6-3, 6-2, for her fourth victory of the campaign. Ristola capped the day from flight one with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Jovana Nikolic, tallying her ninth singles triumph.
