FLORENCE, Ala. (March 9, 2026) – The University of North Alabama men's tennis team had a dominant outing Monday morning, taking a 6-1 triumph over Bellarmine from the UNA Tennis Courts in Florence, Ala.

North Alabama (8-6, 3-0 ASUN) capped a six-dual home slate with the win, rolling to victory to extend its winning ways against conference opponents. The Lions captured their 13th-straight win over an ASUN opponent, using strong and consistent play in both doubles in singles. UNA swept both doubles courts before taking five of six singles flights.

Bellarmine (1-9, 0-2 ASUN) played North Alabama competitively in doubles, but the Lions secured both courts thanks to juniors Alberto Alur, Izan Orgiles and Alex Despoja along with freshman Benjamin Meyers.

Despoja and Meyers secure the first doubles win in a 6-4 victory from court two over Matthew Nice and Colby Berson. Altur and Orgiles followed with a 6-3 win from the top flight over Eli Wood and Ryan Parkins. Court three saw a walkover win for UNA senior Lachlan Brain and sophomore Samu Dominguez.

Starting in singles, junior Whitman Davis had a walkover win from court six to give the Lions a 2-0 team advantage. Orgiles tallied UNA's third team point with the first singles win – a 6-3, 6-2 victory from court two over Wood. Meyers landed the Lions' fourth and clinching point with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph from court four over Zak Vince.

Dominguez rallied back from a dropped set to add to UNA's tally with his third-flight victory over Parkins, 6-0, 4-6, 6-1. Sophomore Satoru Nakajima registered the Lions' fifth singles win with his 6-4, 7-6 (7-3) victory from court five against Berson.
