JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 9, 2026) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced its weekly awards for softball on Monday, naming University of North Alabama junior infielder Briley Dover as this week's winner.

Dover becomes a second-time winner for UNA, as she also won on Feb. 10, 2025.

This brings the season count to three awards for UNA, as sophomore first baseman Holly Merritt and senior pitcher Katie Simon won ASUN Player and ASUN Pitcher of the Week last month, respectively.

Dover was one of the heroes yesterday against Detroit Mercy, hitting a walk-off three-run home run to defeat the Titans 5-4 in the bottom of the seventh inning. She also scored the go-ahead run on Laura Leigh Wheeler's homer in a 5-3 victory in the second game.

For the week, Dover batted 9-for-13 for a .692 batting average against Oakland and Detroit Mercy. She led UNA to a perfect 4-0 record against the Michigan-based teams and has helped UNA to a seven-game win streak.

Dover's production has been tremendous in the four games, including three multi-hit games. She hit two homers, two doubles, scored six runs and drove in seven. She also stole three bases and struck out just one time in 14 plate appearances. Playing at third base this week, she finished with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage.
