CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 10, 2026) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team earned a 3-2 victory Friday afternoon in the Scenic City Showdown opener in Chattanooga, Tenn.
North Alabama (16-11) began the weekend in Chattanooga on a high note with its fifth Atlantic Sun Conference win of the campaign. The lone UNA outing resulted in the conference victory and marked the third-straight win over EKU this season. The Lions additionally improved its all-time mark over EKU to 12-0.
Flights one, three and four helped propel UNA to victory with straight-set wins. Junior Lucy Wedding and sophomore Mabrey Whitehead landed the first Lions' win before earning the second team point from graduate Audrey Gauthier and senior Selma Robinson on court one. Sophomores and reigning ASUN Pair of the Week Jennah Atchley and Brooke Bolden clinched the dual with a triumph from court three.
The extras' court opened the dual with junior Abby Robertson and freshman Karsyn Griffin defeating Tatum Meinerz and Stella Yester, 21-12, 21-18. Wedding and Whitehead tallied their third win this season with a victory from court four – a 21-17, 21-13 win over Carlyn Mcallister and Sutton Sales.
EKU gained a point back with a three-set win from court five, but Gauthier and Robinson's 16th win of the season came next in a 21-15, 21-15 victory from court one. Atchley and Bolden had the clinching win in a competitive bout from court three, securing their 12th win together in a 21-19, 21-19 win over Amanda Floystad and Kaiya Ward. EKU ended the day taking the second court in three sets.
