Ristola, Ansorge and Schouten earn ASUN postseason honors

Ristola and Ansorge nab second postseason awards; Schouten lands first

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 13, 2026) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced their 2026 postseason awards for Women's Tennis on Monday, highlighted by all-conference selections for senior Eeva Ristola, junior Emma Ansorge and freshman Sammie Schouten.

Ristola was named a First Team All-ASUN selection, while Ansorge earned a Second Team All-ASUN nod. Schouten rounds out UNA's postseason haul being named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team.

In total, UNA Women's Tennis has collected four postseason awards this season. Junior Mathilde Delaney earned the team's first honor earlier today with an Academic All-ASUN selection. It marks the second-straight season of UNA taking home four honors after achieving the feat in 2025. It brings the total awards count to 11 in the Division I era with nine coming in the previous two seasons.

Ristola receives a postseason honor for the second-straight year after earning the Doubles Pair of the Year in 2025 with Stanislava Bobrovnikova. The Kotka, Finland native receives her first individual honor while earning UNA's second all-time ASUN First-Team award. Bobrovnikova became the first in program history to do so in 2025.

The senior won 17 total matches in 2026, going 9-2 in singles while 8-7 in doubles. She was a force from the top flight in singles with an 8-1 record. Ristola also had a solid seven wins from the top flight in doubles.

Ristola had an excellent start to the season, going unbeaten in singles from Jan. 16 – Feb. 28. She picked up seven wins in 10 matches against Arkansas State, Samford, Jacksonville State, Belmont, Alabama A&M, EKU and Mississippi Valley State. The senior also had two wins in three ASUN duals, earning a singles and doubles victory over EKU.

Ansorge lands her second-career award after earning All-Freshman honors in 2024. The junior was a star for the Lions in 2026 after an injury shortened her campaign in 2025.

Ansorge led the team with 27 combined wins with a 14-2 singles record and 13-2 doubles record. The Neubrandenburg, Germany native was a mainstay at the second flight, going 13-1 in singles and an unbeaten 11-0 in doubles. She also picked up two singles and one doubles victory from the top flight.

Ansorge began the season unbeaten in singles for over two months from Jan. 16 – March 18. In 13 matches, she had 11 wins against Arkansas State, Samford, Louisiana, Jackson State, Belmont, Alabama A&M, EKU, Troy, Murray State, Western Kentucky and Chattanooga.

Ansorge additionally began the season 13-0 in doubles from Jan. 16 – March 31 with partner Mathilde Delaney. The span of 17 matches resulted in wins over Arkansas State, Louisiana, Jackson State, Alabama A&M, EKU, Mississippi Valley State, Troy, Murray State, Western Kentucky, Chattanooga, North Florida, Milwaukee, and Tennessee State.

Schouten's first collegiate season resulted in 18 wins across singles and doubles. She was second on the team with a 12-5 singles record while contributing six doubles wins. Schouten split time between the fourth and fifth flight in singles and posted a 5-5 record from court four and 7-0 mark from court five.

The freshman was on fire in singles matches from Feb. 6 – March 31, winning 12 of her 14 contests during the span. She was victorious in bouts against Louisiana, Jackson State, Jacksonville State, Belmont, Alabama A&M, EKU, Mississippi Valley State, Troy, Murray State, North Florida, Milwaukee and Tennessee State.

The fifth-seeded Lions are set for their 2026 ASUN Tournament opener in Jacksonville, facing No. 4 Austin Peay in the quarterfinals on Thursday, April 16 at 11 a.m. CT.
