FLORENCE, Ala. (April 17, 2026) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team finished undefeated at home for the second time in program history following a hard-fought 3-2 victory Friday morning over Southeastern Louisiana to conclude Senior Day Weekend in Florence, Ala.
North Alabama (21-12) capped the home outing on top over Sandy Lions, ending the regular season with a perfect 7-0 home record. The last time UNA accomplished this was 2023 — also going 7-0 at the UNA Beach Volleyball Courts that season.
UNA — now on a five game win streak — received a test from Southeastern Louisiana in the home finale. Both teams split the first four matches in regulation before sophomores Jennah Atchley and Brooke Bolden won the dual with a competitive match from flight three.
The top three flights propelled the Lions to the victory over Southeastern Louisiana.
Graduate Audrey Gauthier and Selma Robinson claimed a top flight win for their 22nd victory this season. The two are now tied for third in program history in pair season wins. Graduate Sarah Larkin Lewis and sophomore Paige Griner tallied a win from court two for their 19th of the season. Atchley and Bolden's victory improved their season mark to 17-7 on the year.
Lewis and Griner put the Lions on the board first with a 21-15, 22-20 win over Carley Petty and Emmaleigh Vincent. Southeastern Louisiana responded with a win on court four, but Gauthier and Robinson responded with a 21-12, 21-11 victory over Gabriela Hrubanova and Mia Sauers.
The Sandy Lions won court five to set up the deciding match on court three. Atchley and Bolden overcame a slow start to march to a 21-14 first-set victory. The second set went back and forth between the pairs, but Atchley and Bolden held strong for the 21-19 second set triumph.
In the extras match, junior Abby Robertson and senior Hailey Benesz rolled to a 21-9, 21-18 victory over Ally Alfonso and Kirstin Morris.
