JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 21, 2026) – University of North Alabama beach volleyball student-athletes Selma Robinson, Audrey Gauthier, Sarah Larkin Lewis, Lucy Wedding and Hailey Benesz were selected to the Academic All-ASUN Team announced by the league office on Tuesday.
North Alabama was well-represented on the ASUN's academic team, landing five to open the conference postseason award announcements. The list saw Robinson land the second of her career while Gauthier, Lewis, Wedding and Benesz received their first selections.
The Lions set a program record with the postseason haul, receiving the most selections to the academic team in one season. The previous high was set in 2024 when former standouts Paula Klemperer, Taylor Seney, Mackenzie Martin and Ryenne Gepford secured four spots on the team.
To be eligible, undergraduate student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA, participated in 50 percent of contests during the season, have completed four (4) semesters of college coursework or 50 percent of progress towards a degree and have one year of residence at the institution. Student-athletes in post-graduate programs must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA and have participated in 50 percent of contests during the season.
Robinson and Gauthier were a force from the top flight this season with a 22-8 record. The duo leads the team in pair victories, and the two rank top two individually in season wins. Robinson has the team high with 24 while Gauthier is tied for second with 22.
Robinson is majoring in Finance while Gauthier is pursuing her Master's in Business Administration.
Lewis appears on the list after a 20-win season primarily from the second flight. She went 20-13 with partner Paige Griner and secured the team's lone ranked win with a victory over No. 20 South Carolina. The graduate is studying for her Master's in Exercise Science and Health Promotion.
Wedding won 15 matches this season, including a stellar 7-1 record against ASUN competition. Benesz rounds out UNA's selections after an 11-win season and 5-2 conference record. Wedding is majoring in Chemistry (Professional Health) while Benesz is a Marketing major.
