CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (April 9, 2026) – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team preps for its last regular-season road dual April 10-11 at the Scenic City Showdown in Chattanooga, Tenn.
The Lions make the trip north looking to close the road schedule on a high note. UNA has an Atlantic Sun Conference matchup against EKU before facing hosts Chattanooga, Berry College and UT Martin in the competitive slate in Tennessee.
North Alabama faces EKU in its lone Friday match on April 10 at 1 p.m. The Lions has a three-dual slate Saturday, April 11 against Chattanooga at 7 a.m., Berry College at 11 a.m. and UT Martin at 3 p.m.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama is 15-11 heading to Chattanooga after a two-win weekend at the GSU Diggin' Duals from April 3-4 in Atlanta, Ga. The Lions started the invite with their first-ever win over Georgia State in a 3-2 victory. UNA concluded the trip with a 4-1 win over Mercer. North Alabama has won seven of the last 10 duals while sweeping opponents in five of those contests. Top-flight duo Audrey Gauthier and Selma Robinson lead the team with a 15-8 season record. Second-flight pair Sarah Larkin Lewis and Paige Griner sport a 14-11 record while third-flight partners Jennah Atchley and Brooke Bolden hold a 11-6 mark. Nine Lions have 10 or more wins individually on the year with Robinson (17 wins) and Atchley (16) ranking first and second. Bolden, Gauthier, Griner, and Lewis are tied for third with 15. Additional players with double-digit wins are junior Lucy Wedding (12), senior Hailey Benesz (10) and freshman Emma White (10).
THRIVING FROM THREE: Atchley and Bolden were named the Atlantic Sun Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week on Tuesday, April 7. The two earned UNA's first conference weekly award of the season after a three-win outing at the GSU Diggin' Duals. They became the third different pair in program history to take home the honor and the first in nearly two seasons.
SCOUTING EKU: The Colonels are 16-8 on the season, last time out securing four wins hosting the EKU Sand Fest from April 2-4. EKU earned the four wins all by sweeps over Morehead State (twice), Liberty and Ottawa. Molly Shomock and Riley Cutler leads the team from the top flight with a 16-8 record. EKU is coached by Jeff Patton.
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS THE COLONELS: The Lions hold an 11-0 record against the Colonels. UNA took the first season meeting on March 27 in a 5-0 sweep over EKU.
SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA: The Sandy Mocs enter with a 13-3 record after extending their win streak to 13 games at the EKU Sand Fest. They picked up three 5-0 sweeps against Ottawa, Liberty and EKU in the outing. Maddie Lecik and McKenna Faychak lead from the top flight with a 13-3 record and won their second-straight OVC Pair of the Week on April 8. Taylor Clark and Ashli McKenny have the best record for Chattanooga at 15-1 from flight four. The head coach is Darin Van Horn.
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS THE SANDY MOCS: North Alabama leads the all-time series, 5-3. UNA has won two of the last three duals, last time out defeating Chattanooga in a 4-1 triumph on March 14 at the Shoals Beach Bash in Florence, Ala.
SCOUTING BERRY COLLEGE: The Vikings have a strong 18-5 record on the season, coming off a two-dual outing at the Carson-Newman Tournament on March 27. Berry claimed one win at the outing in a 3-2 victory over Erskine College. The Vikings have won six of their last seven duals with wins over Erskine College (twice) Huntingdon College, Stevenson, East Texas Baptist and Lynchburg. Berry's head coach is Caitlyn Moriarty.
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS THE VIKINGS: This will be the first all-time meeting between North Alabama and Berry College.
SCOUTING UT MARTIN: The Skyhawks sport a 9-4 record in the 2026 campaign. They had a three-win result last time out at the OVC Weekend at Chattanooga with wins over Morehead State, Eastern Illinois and Tennessee Tech. UT Martin has now won four of its last five duals and seven of its last 10. The Skyhawks have three pairs with nine wins, led by top-flight duo Riley Rushing and Dylan Sulcer. Second-flight pair Kayla Bryant and Reagan McGee additionally has nine wins alongside fourth-flight partners Andie Kryak and Amara Traiger. UT Martin is led by Jaclynn Wilson.
SERIES HISTORY VERSUS THE SKYHAWKS: The Lions hold an 8-4 advantage over the Skyhawks in the all-time series. The teams split the last four meetings with UT Martin claiming two 3-2 wins on March 19. North Alabama swept the Skyhawks in 2025's first season meeting on March 7.
