Lions secure No. 3 seed for ASUN Softball Championship

UNA looks to become first three seed to win tournament since 2014

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 3, 2026) – The stage is set for the 2026 Atlantic Sun Conference Softball Championship this week, as the University of North Alabama was announced as the No. 3 seed for the tournament in a reveal by the league office on Sunday.

The tournament will run from May 5-9 and will be hosted by the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla. UNA will play its first game on Wednesday, May 6 at 4 p.m. CT against either No. 6 EKU or No. 7 North Florida.

The top four teams from the ASUN Gold Division and ASUN Graphite Division earned a berth to the tournament this season. The division champions — Central Arkansas and Stetson — earned the No. 1 and No. 2 seed, respectively. The higher seed between the two was determined by which team had the higher RPI.

The rest of the seeding followed the same pattern, as UNA earned the No. 3 seed with a higher RPI than Jacksonville, which finished second in the graphite division. Central Arkansas, Stetson, UNA and Jacksonville receive a bye into the double elimination round.

FGCU, EKU, North Florida and Austin Peay will make up the rest of the field and will play a single elimination game on Tuesday. The winner of No. 5 FGCU and No. 8 Austin Peay will play No. 4 Jacksonville on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. CT.

UNA will look to become the first three-seed to win the tournament since Stetson in 2014.
