ARLINGTON, Texas (July 15, 2026) – The United Athletic Conference announced the men's and women's basketball conference schedules for the 2026-27 season Wednesday, as the University of North Alabama will join eight other schools for the league's first season under the UAC name.
 
All nine members of the conference will play a 16-game schedule, beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 6. The UNA men's basketball program will open the season with a road matchup at West Georgia. The conference home opener for UNA is set for Saturday, Jan. 9 against Austin Peay.
 
UNA will be joined in the UAC by Abilene Christian, Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Little Rock, Tarleton State, UT Arlington and West Georgia.
 
"The UAC is loaded with talented programs that will challenge us every single night," said UNA head coach Tony Pujol, who enters his ninth season at the helm. "Our players and coaching staff have put in a tremendous amount of work this offseason, and we're excited to see that preparation put to the test. We know the level of competition will be outstanding, and that's exactly what you want. Our fans have led the conference in attendance the past two seasons, and we look forward to another electric atmosphere in CB&S Bank Arena this season."
 
Every week will follow a Wednesday/Saturday format beginning Jan. 6 and will span nine weeks to March 6.
 
The UAC Championship Tournament will take place from March 10-13 with NCAA Selection Sunday to follow on March 14. The UAC has not announced the championship host site.
