TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (September 13, 2026) – The University of North Alabama volleyball team heads to Tallahassee, Fla. with an undefeated 10-0 record to face Florida State on Monday at 5 p.m. CT.
The matchup will be played inside Tully Gym and is free of charge to all spectators. The match will stream on ACCNX, and live stats will be available through StatBroadcast.

SCOUTING THE LIONS: North Alabama enters the match against Florida State with a 10-0 record, including nine clean sweeps. This marks the program's most dominant start in history after breaking the record for most sweeps to open a season with 24 straight set wins. This also marks UNA's first 10-0 start since 2005. The Lions are currently hitting .294 as a team with 454 kills. Against Samford, the team recorded a season-high of 61 kills, with 21 of them coming from junior Reese Ricketts to mark her season high.
LAST TIME OUT: The Lions recently played in the Samford Invitational, hosted by Samford in Birmingham, Ala. The Lions went 2-0 after defeating Samford and Jacksonville State. Entering the Samford match, the Lions were yet to lose a set, but Samford came out strong to put the Lions down 2-0. This set up for a reverse sweep to defeat the Bulldogs in five sets. UNA beat Jacksonville State in three quick sets.
SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE: Florida State enters the match with a 4-3 record. They have one ranked win this season after defeating No. 16 Kansas in a five-set showdown. The Seminoles were picked eighth in the ACC preseason poll and had one Preseason All-ACC selection, Kyleene Filimaua, who currently leads the team with 109 kills.
BACK-TO-BACK: Senior Ava Martindale and junior Kinslee McGowan have won the first two UAC weekly awards in their respective categories. Martindale has won two UAC Defensive Player of the Week awards, and McGowan has won two UAC Setter of the Week awards. McGowan leads the conference with 323 assists while Martindale leads digs per set averaging 5.25.
REESE'S PIECES: Ricketts currently leads the UAC in kills and kills per set. She has 118 and averages 3.81 per set. She also has 95 digs to rank second on the team.
