Biography
UNA 2017-18: Smith saw action in all 28 games with 22 starts for the Lions last season...he was second on the team in scoring at 14.4 points per game...shot 38.5 percent from three-point range, hitting 72-of-187 attempts, including a game-winner as time expired against West Alabama...shot 67 percent from the free throw line and added 96 rebounds, 32 steals and a blocked shot on the year...also led the team with 96 assists.
COLLEGE: He played for Cord Wright at Northeast Mississippi College...averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game during his sophomore season before wrapping his two-year playing career with 560 points...helped lead the Tigers to a 21-8 record his final season, reaching the finals of the state and regional tournaments...averaged 9.3 points, 2.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists as a freshman and was later selected for the Mississippi Junior College All-Star Game.
HIGH SCHOOL: He prepped at Velma Jackson High School in Camden, Miss....averaged a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) during his senior season and was selected to play in the 2015 Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Game.
PERSONAL: His full name is Kendarius LaQuinton Smith. He is the son of King and Katherine Matlock. He was born on February 22, 1996 and has two brothers and three sisters. He is majoring in sports management at UNA.
