UNA 2020-21: Matic saw action in 23 games last season...he scored 78 points and pulled down 32 rebounds...averaged 8.2 minutes per game...added six assists, nine steals and seven blocked shots...scored 10 points in each of the first two games of the season...shot 44.8 percent from the floor, including a 36.8 percent showing from three-point range.
UNA 2019-20: He played in 23 games in the 2019-20 season...averaged 2.5 points per game...shot 34.2 percent from three-point range and was 22-of-52 from the floor...totaled 10 assists, four steals and three blocked shots on the season...scored a season-high nine points on Dec. 28 at Florida State.
UNA 2018-19: He saw action in 21 games for the Lions in the 2018-19 season, including four starts as a true freshman...was 18-of-55 from the floor, including 13 three-point baskets and averaged 2.7 points and 0.6 rebounds per game...added eight assists, five steals and a blocked shot...scored a career-high 15 points on Dec. 13 at home against Huntingdon.
HIGH SCHOOL: He played guard at Sportska Gimnazija…led his Mega Leks team to a second-place finish in the Euro League during the 2016-17 season...also helped lead the Under-18 Serbian National Team to the European championship in the summer of 2017...later shot 44 percent from three-point range, scoring 12.1 points per game while playing for BKK Radnicki.
PERSONAL: His full name is Aleksa Matic. He is the son of Darko and Jovana Matic. He was born July 28, 1999 and has one sister. He is majoring in electromechanical engineering at UNA.
