Biography

UNA 2015-16: McKinnie played in 27 games for UNA during the 2015-16 campaign...he averaged 4.9 points and 1.4 rebounds in just under 10 minutes per contest...was 28-of-40 from the free throw line and 20-of-62 from three-point range...overall, shot 38.5 percent from the floor...had four assists and 14 steals on the year...scored a season-high 13 points twice on the year against Delta State (Jan. 2) and Union (Jan. 11).

COLLEGE: He played two seasons at Southwest Tennessee Community College for coach Jerry Nichols…He was the top scorer coming off the bench, averaging 11.4 points per game as a sophomore…shot 44.1 percent from the floor and 39.5 percent from three-point range…also grabbed 2.1 rebounds per contest.

HIGH SCHOOL: He played for coach Rick Rudesili at Bolivar Central High School...was an all-district and all-region selection…led the team to a district championship and consecutive appearances in the state tournament in 2010 and 2011…averaged 16 points, six rebounds and three assists per game.

PERSONAL: His full name is DeAndre McKinnie. He is the son of Linda McKinnie. He was born on April 12, 1994 and has one brother. He is majoring in physical education at UNA.
