Biography
UNA 2015-16: Jackson played and started in 27 games for the Lions last season...he shot 44.7 percent from the floor, averaging 14 points per game...he totaled 104 rebounds and added a team-high 87 assists with 16 steals...had a team-best 87.7 free throw shooting percentage, going 115-of-131 from the foul line...reached double figures in scoring 19 times, including a career-high 35 points on Dec. 10, against West Georgia...received GSC Player of the Week honors after adding a 14-point game two days later against West Alabama.
COLLEGE: He played two seasons at Northeast Mississippi Community College for coach Cord Wright…received All-America honors for the Tigers after wrapping up a two-year career with 776 points…averaged 15.2 points per game as a true freshman in the 2013-14 season…followed with a sophomore campaign where he was a first team all-conference selection and four-time MACJA Player of the Week…averaged 18.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.2 steals per game en route to becoming the program's 15th All-American…scored a career-high 30 points on Jan. 22 against Cohaoma Community College and also finished up the season shooting a team-high 87.4 percent from the free throw line.
HIGH SCHOOL: He played point guard for coach Harold Boudreaux at Brusly High School…was a two-time first team All-District selection and District MVP after leading his team to consecutive district titles…also earned all-metro and all-state honors as a junior and a senior…also lettered in football for the Panthers.
PERSONAL: His full name is Dimarrio Jamal Jackson, Sr. He is the son of Reginald and Beverly Jackson. He was born on August 15, 1995 and has two sisters, Kim and Elise, two brothers, Darrius and Parker, and a son, Dimario Jackson, Jr. He is majoring in professional management at UNA.
