Biography
UNA 2020-21: Youngblood started all 24 games for the Lions last year...He averaged 10.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while leading the team with 17 blocked shots...was selected to the 2021 ASUN All-Tournament Team after scoring 26 points vs. FGCU in the semifinals and 14 in the finals against Liberty in the championship game...reached double digits in scoring 11 times and added 96 rebounds, 28 assists and 18 steals...was a first team CoSIDA Academic All-District selection after graduating with a 3.63 GPA and earning a perfect 4.0 average working toward his MBA...was also an ASUN Winner for Life honoree and an ASUN All-Academic selection.
UNA 2019-20: He saw action in 26 games in the 2019-20 season, including four starts...averaged 5.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game on the year...also totaled 30 assists, 16 steals and eight blocked shots...connected on 22 three-point attempts...scored a season-high 16 points on Nov. 30 during a 67-57 home win over Morehead State.
UNA 2018-19: He played in only four games in 2018-19 before an injury ended his season...scored 31 points for a 7.8 points-per-game average and added 12 rebounds, five assists, five steals and a blocked shot...he was 12-of-15 from the free throw line...received a medical red-shirt and will enter the 2018-19 season as a junior.
OTHER COLLEGE: He played two seasons at Snead State Community College...averaged 12 points and five rebounds per game as a sophomore...helped lead the team to a 25-7 overall record, the 2018 NJCAA Region 22 championship and a berth in the national tournament...was a first team all-region selection and finished second in voting for the 2018 Region 22 Player of the Year.
HIGH SCHOOL: He played for coach Chris Love at Oak Mountain High School...played the 3, 4 and 5 positions as the Eagles advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2016 Class 7A state tournament...received third team All-State honors.
PERSONAL: His full name is Thomas Payton Youngblood. He is the son of Tommy and Sallie Youngblood. He was born on February 18, 1998 and has one brother. He is majoring in chemical engineering at UNA.
