HIGH SCHOOL: Naqase was a setter for coach Buddy Anglese at San Leandro High School in San Leandro, Calif...she was a four-year starter, helping lead the Pirates to a league title during her senior year...was a first team all-league selection four straight years and earned Player of the Year honors in 2016 after leading the league in assists.
 
PERSONAL: Her full name is Mere Funaki Asenaca Naqase. She is the daughter of Semisi and Wainise Naqase. She was born on March 13, 1999 and has one brother and three sisters. She is majoring in criminal justice at UNA.
