Biography

UNA 2018: Abakar saw action in 20 matches, including 13 starts as a true freshman last year...she had 43 kills for an average of 0.67 per set...was third on the team with 42 total blocks...added 20 digs and five assists on the season...posted a season-high eight kills on Nov. 2 against Stetson...added seven kills during a 3-1 home win on Nov. 6 against NJIT.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played for coach Claudia Muerle at Josef-Hofiller Gymnasium Freising...was a middle blocker for a team that won the 16U German Vice championship...followed with a third-place finish at the German U18 in 2016 and a first-place finish in 2017...added another third-place showing at the U20 in 2018...also lettered in basketball.
 
PERSONAL: Her full name is Nura Abakar. She is the daughter of Abdalla Abakar and Andrea Loweenthal. She was born on January 5, 2000 and has one brother. She is majoring in political science at UNA.
