LIONS FALL 70-57 AT WEST FLORIDA

PENSACOLA, Fla., – After falling behind 24-9 in the first quarter, the University of North Alabama women's basketball team could never catch back up in a 70-57 loss at West Florida on Saturday. The fourth straight loss gives UNA a 1-6 overall record with an 0-2 start to Gulf South Conference play.
 
After the Lions scored first on a three-point basket by Jaclyn Heath, UWF responded with an 11-0 run and never trailed again. The Argonauts led 37-22 at the half.
 
North Alabama made its run in the third quarter to get the deficit to single digits. The Lions outscored UWF 25-17 in the period. A three-pointer by Katelyn Kostelc in the final minute made the score 47-54 heading into the fourth quarter. West Florida stretched the lead back to 14 and held on for the win.
 
Katelyn Nunley finished the game with 15 points to lead UNA. Heath went 3-of-7 from three-point range and scored 13 points on the day.
 
West Florida (3-3 overall, 1-1 GSC) was led by Katie Bobos' 20 points and 15 rebounds.
 
UNA will return home for its next GSC game, hosting West Georgia on Thursday, Dec. 10. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
