ROME, Ga., – Sisters Ivy and Emma Wallen combined for 47 points as the University of North Alabama women's basketball team rallied for a 76-74 win Saturday afternoon at Shorter. The win gives UNA a 14-3 overall record, including an 8-3 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Lions have now won five of their last six games, including two of their last three on the road.

On Saturday, the Wallen duo scored the last nine points of the game for the Lions and also teamed up for a key defensive stop with just over 10 seconds remaining. Nursing a 75-74 lead with 10.6 seconds to go, Emma tipped an inbounds pass by the Hawks into the hands of Ivy. After drawing a foul, Ivy sank 1-of-2 free throws with 6.8 seconds remaining.

Shorter was unable to get off a shot as KeKe Gunter came up with a loose ball to record a steal as time expired.

Shorter led 72-70 in the final minute of play before Emma Wallen took an inbounds pass on the right wing an buried a three-pointer to give the Lions a 73-72 advantage.

Taylor Adams gave Shorter its last lead of the game. The league's leading scorer was fouled while making a basket with 22.3 seconds to play. She missed the ensuing free throw, however, to keep the Hawks lead at 74-73. Ivy Wallen then connected on a runner down the right side of the lane to give UNA a one-point lead with 12.6 seconds remaining.

The Lions had a foul to give, stopping the clock with just over 10 seconds to play and setting up the big steal by Wallen.
