UNA VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS AUM TO IMPROVE TO 16-3

FLORENCE – Another 3-0 sweep on Saturday extended the University of North Alabama volleyball team's winning streak to five matches and 15 consecutive sets. The Lions knocked off Auburn-Montgomery 25-12, 25-6, 25-15 to improve to 16-3 overall and 6-1 in Gulf South Conference play.
 
Lexie Bradley had 15 kills with a .312 hitting percentage while Jessica Austin hit .600 for the match with 11 kills as UNA maintained second place in the GSC standings. Jayden Davila-McClary also turned in 26 assists while Ashtyn Kapovich led all defensive players with 12 digs.
 
As a team, North Alabama hit .352 for the match while holding the Warhawks (7-11 overall, 1-7 GSC) to an even .000 showing. Brianna Garvin led AUM with five kills.
 
UNA will play a non-conference match at West Florida on Tuesday before facing a trio of Sunshine State Conference teams next weekend at the GSC/SSC Crossover in Birmingham. West Florida (15-4 overall, 7-0 GSC) is currently in first place in the GSC standings and represents UNA's last loss.
