CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State completed a three-game sweep of North Alabama Sunday with a 6-2 win over the Lions. With the Loss, UNA falls to 16-13 overall and 11-7 in the Gulf South Conference. Delta State Improved to 22-7 overall and 13-5 in the GSC.
UNA took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the first inning but the Statesmen answered with three in the bottom of the frame and never relinquished the lead. DSU added two more runs in the second and one in the fourth for a 6-1 lead. The Lions added a solo run in the seventh to make the final count 6-2.
Devan Traglia (4-1) took the loss for UNA, allowing six runs on 15 hits over seven and two-thirds innings. He walked one and struckout five.
UNA was held to seven hits in the game and the Lions were led by
T.J. Lockett with two.
North Alabama hosts Miles Tuesday in a non-conference double-header at 2 p.m. at Mike Lane Field.
