LION VOLLEYBALL FALLS AT LIBERTY

LYNCHBURG, Va., – Liberty hit .433 for the match and held North Alabama to an .055 team hitting percentage during a 3-0 sweep Sunday in ASUN Conference volleyball action. With the loss, UNA falls to 2-19 overall and 0-12 in ASUN play.
 
The Flames produced at least 13 kills in each set to keep pace in the conference standings. Five different Liberty players had a least five kills for the match. The home team took control early, hitting .500 in the opening set and never letting North Alabama find its rhythm.
 
Michay Jackson and Madison Ruble had eight kills each to lead the Lions. Jackson also hit .304 and added a block and a dig on the day. Jayden Davila-McClary had 22 assists while Genesis Benítez recorded a team-high 15 digs.
 
Casey Goodwin led Liberty (13-13 overall, 9-3 ASUN) with 14 kills.
 
North Alabama will return home for its next three matches, beginning Friday against Stetson. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
