VOLLEYBALL DROPS HOME OPENER TO KENNESAW STATE

FLORENCE – Kennesaw State had five players with at least five kills each in a 3-0 sweep over North Alabama in ASUN Conference volleyball action Sunday at Flowers Hall. With the 25-15, 25-13, 25-13 loss, UNA falls to 2-9 on the season and 0-2 in ASUN play.
 
The Owls (11-4 overall, 2-0 ASUN) hit .386 as a team and recorded 51 kills on the day. KSU's Lauren Chastang led all players with 12 kills.
 
UNA hit below .100 in each set of its home opener. The Lions were able to match points with the visitors early in each game before long scoring runs allowed KSU to pull away each time.
 
Malaisia Stallworth led the Lions with six kills and three blocks. Jayden Davila-McClary had nine assists while Genesis Benítez recorded nine digs for the match.
 
UNA will host Liberty on Friday. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
