JACKSONVILLE, Fla., – North Alabama overcame a 10-point deficit with 1:17 to play to stun host Jacksonville 62-59 Tuesday in ASUN Conference women's basketball action. The road win gives UNA a 12-2 overall record with a 3-1 mark in league play.

The Lions trailed 57-47 at the 1:17 mark before closing the game on a 15-2 run. Emma Wallen gave UNA the lead in the final minute of play. The junior was fouled as she drained a three-point shot to tie the game at 59-59 with 35 seconds remaining. Her free throw converted the four-point play and put the Lions ahead by a single point.

UNA got a defensive stop on the ensuing possession and Ivy Wallen sank two free throws with one second to play to seal the victory.

With the win, North Alabama takes over sole possession of second place in the ASUN standings. The Lions are now 2-0 in road conference games. Jacksonville lost for just the fifth time at home over the last four seasons.

JU hit 1-of-2 free throws and had possession with the 57-47 lead at the 1:17 mark following the first of two technical fouls against UNA down the stretch.

Emma Wallen started the rally, drawing a foul on the inbounds play and hitting both free throws to make the score 57-49. The JU lead remained eight following a basket by Brittany Panetti and two free throws by the Dolphins after another technical foul on the UNA bench.

Ivy Wallen, however, countered with a three-pointer and Emma Wallen added a jumper to make the score 59-56 in the final minute of play.
