BEACH VOLLEYBALL TOPS HUNTINGDON 4-1

MONTGOMERY – The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team climbed back above the .500 mark for the season with a 4-1 victory at Huntingdon on Thursday. With the win, the Lions improved to 3-2 in the program's inaugural season.

UNA took a quick 3-0 lead with wins at the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 3 positions. Huntingdon (2-11) got on the board with a win at No. 2 before the Lions clinched the match with a victory at the top spot. The German duo of Sophia Brandstetter and Paula Klemperer clinched the match with a 21-5, 21-13 win at No. 1.

North Alabama will play three matches March 22-23 at the FAU Beach Bash. The Lions are scheduled to take on Tampa, host Florida Atlantic and Florida International on the FAU campus in Boca Raton, Fla.
