Nashville, Tenn. -- After scoring two runs in the top of the first inning, the University of North Alabama was held scoreless the remainder of the game and dropped a 6-2 decision to Lipscomb in an ASUN Conference baseball game.
With the loss, North Alabama cannot advance to the ASUN Conference Tournament next weekend. UNA is now 16-36 overall and 7-14 in ASUN play.

Davis Elliott hit a home run to lead off the game for UNA and
Kevin Brenning followed with a double.
Reid Homan then singled in Brenning to give the Lions a 2-0 advantage.
Lipscomb responded immediately with three runs in the bottom of the first on four hits and one UNA error to take the lead from the Lions.
The Bisons added a run on a Cade Sorrells home run in the bottom of the third inning to make it 4-2 and then added another in the sixth when Zeke Dodson walked and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Jackson Furstace.
The final run came in the bottom of the eighth when Sorrell singlde and later scored on another sacrifice fly by Furstace.
Hunter Davidson (3-4) took the loss for North Alabama, allowing five runs, four earned, on seven hits over six innings.
Bryant Claunch pitched the final two innings for the Lions and allowed a run on one hit.
The Lions and Bisons play the second game of the series on Friday at 6 p.m.
