LIONS FALL TO LIBERTY ON FINAL DAY OF ASUN CROSSOVER

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., – Liberty had three players reach double figures in kills in a 3-1 win over the University of North Alabama volleyball team Sunday afternoon in Jacksonville. The 17-25, 25-18, 23-25, 21-25 loss by the Lions wraps up play at the ASUN Crossover with a 1-2 record on the University of Jacksonville campus. UNA falls to 8-16 overall and 2-9 in ASUN play with the loss.
 
After the teams split the first two sets, Liberty grabbed momentum by rallying for a victory in the third. North Alabama led 23-21 before the Flames scored four straight points to secure the win.
 
The fourth set featured 12 ties before Liberty pulled away late. After a kill by UNA's AK Griggs tied the score at 19-19, the Flames recorded three straight points. The Lions would get no closer than two the rest of the way.
 
Katy Floyd led UNA with 16 kills. Kamryn Parson added her second straight double-digit performance with 12 kills while Breylee Linder had 37 assists. Linder and Katie Gerig also led the way defensively with 11 digs each.
 
UNA returns home to host Eastern Kentucky on Friday. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
