ATLANTA, Ga. -- University of North Alabama senior pitcher
Hunter Davidson of Pinson, Ala., has been named ASUN Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance in the Lions weekend sweep of Lipscomb University.
Davidson pitched eight complete innings for the Lions, allowing just one run on six hits while equaling his career high with 12 strikeouts in the opening game of the series. He improved to 1-2 with the win.
The 12-2 UNA win in the opener sparked the Lions to a three-game sweep of the Bisons, marking UNA's first three-game sweep and ASUN sweep on the Division I level.
For the season, Davidson has a 2.56 earned run average in five starts and leads the team in innings pitched (31.2) and strikeouts (37).
