FLORENCE, Ala. -- North Alabama was held to one run on five hits as Little Rock evened the weekend series with the Lions with a 9-1 win over UNA at Mike Lane Field.
UNA won the opening game of the three-game set on Friday, 6-4. The Lions and Trojans will meet in the finale on Sunday at noon.
Little Rock scored five runs in the third inning with four hits, a walk and two Lion errors.
UNA got its only run in the fifth as
Austin Thrasher reached on a single, stole second and third and scored on an infield single by
Reid Homan.
Little Rock added single runs in the sixth, eighth and ninth innings to make it 9-1.
UNA starter
Chase Best took the loss, allowing six runs, four earned, on 10 hits over five and two-thirds innings. He walked one and struck out eight.
John Lundgren pitched two innings, allowing two runs on three hits.
Jacob James allowed a run and a hit in two-thirds of an inning of work and
Will Haberstock allowed one hit in two-thirds of an inning.
UNA was out-hit 15 to five in the loss, made four errors and had four passed balls that helped the Trojans.
The series finale is set for noon Sunday.
