ATLANTA, Ga. – University of North Alabama kicker
Sam Contorno and offensive lineman A.J. Vang have been named to the 2022 ASUN Conference Football All-Academic Team.
Contorno, a redshirt sophomore from Tuscaloosa, Ala., has a 4.0 grade point average as he pursues a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture and Design. He previously graduated from UNA in the summer of 2022 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.
On the field, he was UNA's second-leading scorer with 56 points this season. He made six of his seven field goal attempts and connected on all 38 of his extra point attempts.
Vang, a Goddard, Kan., native and an Academic All-District selection in 2021 as well, has a 4.0 as he pursues his Master's in Education. A three-year starter, he previously graduated from UNA with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.
